Become an AusGOAL Practitioner

AusGOAL has been funded and developed by the Cross Jurisdictional Chief Information Officers Committee.  The Committee recognises that its implementation, along with the reforms to open access to publicly funded information, represent the need for significant cultural change across Australia's public sector.  To support this change the AusGOAL implementation plan requires the creation of AusGOAL Practitioner Networks in each Australian jurisdiction.  The purpose of the networks are to:

  • drive cultural change to implement AusGOAL
  • provide a forum to ask and answer questions about AusGOAL development and implementation
  • provide networking opportunities, in particular promoting cross-jurisdictional networking and transfer of information
  • provide peer support for staff implementing AusGOAL
  • promote better understanding of copyright in the context of open access to public sector information and information management reform

This area of the AusGOAL website is designed to support AusGOAL Practitioners. It includes:

  • a document library containing examples of training materials, intellectual property and information management policies, and jurisdictional guidelines addressing AusGOAL.  The library documents can be re-used by practitioners as templates of their organisational documents.
  • an events calendar for AusGOAL practitioner network meetings and other related events.  It also includes calendars for other Gov 2.0 events.
  • a forum, for practitioners to use to ask and answer questions about their implementation of AusGOAL

Why is it a secured area?

Its secured because neither the events in the calendar, nor all of the documents in the document library, are currently open to the public.  Also, we wanted to create an online environment for practitioners to ask questions, while being comfortable that they wouldn't be published externally.
